To ICC Members and Newsletter Subscribers:
The Internet Chamber of Commerce, and Rockies Venture Club, invite you to the Meet the Masters: Great Entrepreneurial Success Series at the Rockies' monthly dinner meeting Tuesday September 13, 2005. You'll hear Roy Dimoff, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO of ViaWest, discuss lessons learned in his three successful startups. And he'll share some personal tips to help you succeed.
Because of the Internet Chamber's relationship with the Rockies Venture Club (RVC), we have arranged for you to receive the RVC member rate for the event when you enter ICC in the registration code field. Hope you can make it.
Where is The ICC Going?
I am working on a re-launch of the Internet Chamber as a very different and cutting edge organization which will embrace a lot of the new ideas that I was never able to introduce during the time I was frantically trying to maintain the monthly meetings.
As you have noticed I have only been promoting events from The Rockies Venture Club for the last year or so as I worked thru 2 lawsuits, complete lack of funds and threatned bankruptcy, severe personal depression and the 8 month ordeal as my mother died from pancreatic cancer.
My mother's dying request was that I let go of the Internet Chamber as she felt I had given it my best and that it was a source of too much stress. Since she had been paying all my expenses so I could work for free for the Internet Chamber for 8 years, I felt I should heed this request. You can get a little more background on my Mother's support of this organization HERE.
This has been an agonizing time for me, but I know I have learned a lot and I feel I can redirect it toward an idea that will benefit from my experience and yet avoid the problems that held me back before.
I'll tell you more soon as I put pieces in place. The foundation to this idea is well described in this article.
In a future e-mail, I'll be sharing with you my thinking and if I get enough positive feed-back, I'll work toward bringing you this new Virtualization of the Internet Chamber.
You can e-mail me any of your thoughts. I'd love to begin brainstorming with you.
Best Regards,
Terry Freeman

Roy Dimoff ViaWest Co-founder, Chairman, CEO
Roy Dimoff is responsible for guiding the overall direction of the company through strategic positioning, financing and merger and acquisition selection. Dimoff started his first telecommunications company in Toronto, Canada, at age 26. Since that time, he has been involved with a series of successes within the industry.
In 1988, he sold his first company to Confertech International of Denver, Colorado. From 1988 to 1993, Dimoff grew the services division of Confertech to the second largest provider of audio / video teleconferencing services in the United States.
In 1995, Dimoff assumed management control of RMI.net, and within two years established it as the leading Internet Service Provider in Colorado. As CEO of RMI.net, he successfully completed one of the first Internet IPOs.
In 1997, Dimoff and his team sold out of their position at RMI.net and began the early stage development of ViaWest. In early 1999, Dimoff and the other founders provided the initial funding and launched ViaWest Internet Services, Inc., a provider of colocation and hosted solutions. Mr. Dimoff and the ViaWest management team understand the market, the Internet and what it takes to build a successful, profitable company.
